Changes to Building Regulations and Fees
Following public consultations, the Department of Finance have introduced;
- Building Regulation fee uplifts which took effect from 1st April 2022. This involves a fee increase of 17.5% to most of the fees within Schedule 1 (Fees for one or more small domestic buildings) and 17.5% in Schedule 2 (Fees for certain small buildings, extensions and alterations). There is no change to Schedule 3 (estimated cost of works).
- Amendments to both the regulations and guidance of Building Regulations (NI) 2012 which came into effect from 1st April and 30th June 2022. There are ‘Technical Amendments Publication’ which amend current Technical Booklets; Part B (2013), Part C (2012), Part E (2012) and Part R (2012). There are also new Technical Booklets for Parts F1 and F2.
